Cue x FibreTrace

Cue has released its first style in partnership with Good Earth Cotton, and FibreTrace. We caught up with the team at Cue to hear about their passion for Australian fibres, family business and what the future holds.

(FibreTrace) What was your source of inspiration for developing the collection?

(Cue) Creating beautiful modern pieces that fit within the ethos of the Cue brand and our future sustainability goals.

(FibreTrace) How important is it to you as a family business, to connect with other Australian family run operations?

(Cue) When working with other companies and businesses, having a good brand and culture alignment can attribute to a much more successful outcome. When we work with other Australian businesses there seems to be a natural synergy that can lift and support both brands.

(FibreTrace) Why is using Australian fibres key for your business?

(Cue) For many years at Cue, we have strived to always use as much Australian cotton and Australian wool as possible. It seems natural for us as a proud Australian fashion brand to use one of the country’s biggest exports of material. Good Earth Cotton® and FibreTrace® technology gives us and our customers not only the certainty that the fibre is Australian, but also transparency to trace the yarn through the whole supply chain. Essentially taking the customer on the production journey with us.

We are proud of our production lines and the companies we work with so it’s exciting to share that journey with our customers.

(FibreTrace) Having so many years of experience in the fashion industry, and now moving to adopt traceability solutions – where do you see the future heading in regard to sustainability and transparency?

(Cue) Hopefully in the future it will become more readily available for businesses to adopt traceability and sustainable practices. FibreTrace® has given us that freedom with Australian cotton.  It’s no surprise that pricing and availability can be a challenge when sourcing more sustainable fabrics – hopefully this becomes less challenging, and brands can adopt sustainable practices much more easily.

As a business we are committed to continue striving for more sustainable practices and constantly learning.
